Postpartum Doula Support Rates & Billing Policies
| Hourly Rates and Contracts: Postpartum support contracts can span days, weeks, or months. Hours are scheduled based on your family's needs and my availability. Contract hours expire three months after a birth or adoption. View common support schedules for examples of potential scheduling options. A three hour minimum block of time is required for each support session. |

Contract Deposit & Billing: A deposit equal to twenty percent of the total package value is due upon
contract. The remaining balance will be paid in bi-weekly installments over the course of the contract
or as otherwise agreed to by the contracting parties. Deposits are non-refundable, except in extreme
circumstances such as a family or financial loss.
Contract Minimum: Contracts require a 30-hour minimum agreement.
Support Session Minimum: Each postpartum support session must be a minimum of three hours in
duration to ensure effective situational assessment and appropriate household support.
Consultations: Payment is due at time of, or prior to consultation.
Cancellations: A fourteen-day advance notice of cancellation is required. Clients are required to pay
for services rendered at the appropriate hourly rate. Deposits are non-refundable, except in extreme
circumstances such as a family or financial loss.
Expiration Policy: Postpartum doula contracts expire twelve weeks after a birth or adoption. Any
unused hours are the responsibility of the contracted party and full payment for hours purchased must
be received.
Federal Holidays/Weekends: Holistic Helping Hand observes all Federal Holidays
(http://www.opm.gov/fedhol/) and generally does not offer postpartum doula services on weekends.
Overnight Hours: Overnight hours (any hours between 10PM and 7AM) are limited to: 1) Three or fewer
nights per week, or 2) On occasion as an add-on to daytime contracts. Overnight hours are charged
at a minimum rate of $30.00/hr, regardless of contract purchased.
Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are available by hour or contract amount. Gift certificates make great
gifts for your expecting friends and loved ones. Please contact gifts@holistichelpinghand.com for
more information or to order one now.
Tax Deductions: You may be eligible to deduct some or all postpartum doula care costs from your
federal income taxes. For more information on whether or not you qualify speak with your tax advisor
and visit www.irs.gov/individuals/parents/index.html.

Proof of unemployment, disability, single-parent household, or government assistance for low-income
families must be provided. Please inquire about our military discount.
Evaluations: Your input on how I can improve my services is the most valuable advice I can receive.
While I encourage and prefer timely comments/questions/critiques throughout the course of a
contract, I also offer a Performance Evaluation for clients to fill out at the close of their contract. Your
opinion of my services is of paramount importance to me, so please take the time to return a
completed evaluation form when you are able.
