Modalities: Classical/Swedish; Deep Tissue; Mayofascial Release, Infant Massage Instruction.
- Classical/Swedish: Gentle, but firm gliding strokes, kneading, rocking, friction, vibration,
tapotement (percussion), holding, and stretching are used to warm and soften muscle tissue,
increase circulation, reduce body tension, improve sleep, reduce stress, and relax the mind.
- Deep Tissue: Once muscle tissues are warmed, slow, steady, deep contact is made to
identify, reach, soften, and release and areas of muscle tension and adhesion. Techniques
specific to muscle groups and muscle fiber alignment. Client-therapist communication is
important, and deep breathing techniques are used. Increased range of motion, reduced pain,
and increased energy can result.
- Myofascial Release: A technique focused on slowly and deliberately softening, stretching and
naturally aligning connective tissue (fascia) that bundles muscle components and ultimately
become tendons at muscle attachments sites. Slow, deep, deliberate, warming-contact made
along fascial planes and aponeuroses. Clients may experience itching, burning, and a sense
of heavy pressure during a treatment. Results can include improved structural alignment,
increased range of motion, and a sense of opening, lightening and lengthening.
Massage Billing: Payment is due on, or prior to day of service. Payment made on day of service is due
at appointment intake or session review.
Medical Disclosure: Clients are responsible for disclosing their past and present medical history
including injury, illness, disease, treatment, or surgeries. Failure to disclose medical history can
impede effectiveness of treatment, and potentially endanger the client. A medial disclosure form must
be filled out in full prior to treatment.
Confidentiality: All personal and medical information of HRH clients is held in confidence. A release
signed by the client is required for me to communicate with other members of their medical team.
Draping Policy: All clients are adequately draped to protect their physical privacy as required by the
American Massage Therapy Association and national, state, and local licensing entities.
Cancellations: Twenty four hours advanced notice of massage cancellation is required. If cancellation
occurs with less than 24-hours notice, the client will be charged for the session.
Late Policy: Please make an effort to be on time for your appointment. If you are running late, please
call to let me know. Clients arriving late will be charged the rate for the entire session as scheduled.
Gift Certificate: Contact gifts@holistichelpinghand.com for more information or to order one now. Gift
certificates do not expire and make great gifts for friends and loved ones.
Refusal of Service: Holistic Helping Hand reserves the right to refuse service to persons under the
influence of drugs or alcohol, or engaging in unacceptable verbal or physical behavior in the massage
setting as per policies of the American Massage Therapy Association.
